WHAT DO WE WANT?

We want to incorporate practical exercises and challenges in the development of leaders and teams. We specialize in enhancing theoretical learning with experiential activities, primarily outdoors and in unique settings.

WHY EXERCISE AND OUTDOOR?

Banff People is known for conducting our courses outdoors. In reality, our activities are carried out as a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. However, we believe that one does not become a better leader or achieve optimal collaboration by only sitting in a meeting room. Instead, practical challenges provide an immediate and realistic experience, opportunities for valuable feedback, and immediate behavior change. Nature is simply the best setting for such exercises.

IT'S ABOUT ACTIVE LEARNING

“Experiences, reflection, and realization,” “interactive learning processes,” “Corporate Adventure Training” – there are many different terms and headings for the fact that when you practice and rehearse what needs to be learned, it becomes much more deeply rooted than lecture-based teaching.For us, it’s about making the topics come to life and drawing parallels to situations that can be recognized from everyday life.

THE CONCEPT

We work with behavioral change through practical and relevant exercises. We use “Active Reviewing,” which is a practical and experiential learning method, where we use what happens here and now to create learning relevant to everyday life. We believe in “Energy Management,” where it’s about using the limited time more effectively and focusing on the leader’s or employee’s energy, aiming to eliminate energy-draining behaviors and instead establish productive habits. We take a systemic approach, considering various perspectives on reality and receiver-driven communication, with a focus on conflict resolution and tools for this, where we move away from “defensive reasoning” in favor of “double loop learning.” We apply the appreciative method, focusing on successes and desires rather than problems, thereby adding energy and ownership to the change processes. We use “best practice,” taking the best from the past and leaving the rest behind.
